COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Sunday, August 25 (9am to 6pm)
Tactical Emergency Trauma Care - $125

This class starts where your basic first aid course leaves off. This class meets and exceeds the guidelines set forth in June of 2018 for Tactical Emergency Trauma Care (TECC) for first responders. This is a hands on class where you will learn and practice the medical skills that saves lives in trauma incidents. You carry a gun to protect yourself and those you love in an emergency, doesn't it make sense to have the skills to be able to save their lives and your own as well?


Sunday, September 8 (8am to 5pm)
Handgun Fundamentals - $145

This class is for those new to handguns, those wanting to improve their marksmanship, and those wanting help diagnosing and correcting shooting fundamentals and performance.  This class will be divided between the classroom and the range.  We will cover firearms safety, choosing a handgun and ammo, anatomy of different types of handguns, operating and manipulation of handguns, shooting fundamentals, diagnosing errors, and improving shooter performance. While it is recommended that anyone wanting to get their concealed permit take further classes, this class does meet the requirement for the Florida CCW permit.


Sunday, September 22 (8am to 6pm)
Defensive Handgun Level 1- $145

This class is my most popular and recommended for anyone who carry's a concealed handgun or anyone interested in carrying a concealed handgun. 
This class is for the individual who has an understanding of firearms safety and the fundamentals of marksmanship. While we will review these topics, this is not a basic marksmanship class.

Topics covered will include:

- A review of marksmanship fundamentals
- Firearms safety in a dynamic environment
- The defensive drawstroke
- Defensive shooting fundamentals
- Multiple threats
- Human anatomy and shot placement
- Basics of movement
- Assessing the scene
- Proper use of cover and concealment
- Malfunction clearing and types of reloads
- Proper defensive mindset
- Situational awareness and avoiding a violent encounter
- Physiological and psychological aspects of a violent encounter
- Criminal behavior and mindset
- The aftermath of a violent encounter
- Initial contact with police after a violent encounter, what to do, what to expect
- Tactical considerations


Sunday, October 13 (8am to 6pm)
Fighting Carbine Level 1 - $145

There's more to being able to effectively fight with your carbine than target shooting.  This class will teach you the basic skills needed to defend you and your family with a carbine in a violent encounter. A firm understanding of firearms safety is required for this class.

Topics covered include:

- Firearms safety in a dynamic environment
- Fundamentals of rifle shooting
- Defensive carbine fundamentals and marksmanship
- Firearm and equipment selection and placement
- Zeros, zeroing your carbine, and tactical considerations of zero
- Carbine manipulation, reloads, and malfunctions under stress
- Shooting positions
- Ready positions
- Close quarters engagement
- Human anatomy and shot placement
- Assessing the scene
- Basics of movement
- Defensive mindset
- Proper use of cover and concealment


Saturday, October 26 (8am to 6pm)
Defensive Handgun Level 1- $145

Saturday November 9 (3pm to midnight)
Low Light Tactics - $145

More than half of all defensive shootings occur in low light environments. This course is designed to develop the skills needed to safely and effectively identify and engage deadly threats in a low light environment. This is not a basic shooting class. All students must be able to demonstrate safe gun handling, and the ability to safely draw and re-holster a weapon. Anyone failing to meet these prerequisites will not be allowed to participate in the low light, live fire portion of this class.

Topics covered include:

- Safety considerations in low light
- How the eye works at night
- Selecting the Proper equipment
- Employing a handheld flashlight in conjunction with a handgun
- Overview of weapons mounted flashlight and safety considerations
- Using a flashlight and light to temporarily control a threat
- Engaging deadly threats while using a flashlight
- Movement and search considerations in a low light environment
- Cover and concealment in low light
- An introduction to night vision, lasers, and thermal devices


Saturday, November 30 (8am to 5pm)
Defensive Handgun Level 2- $145

This course is the 2nd course in the Defensive Handgun series. Anyone interested in this course must have taken Defensive Handgun Level 1 or a similar course from a qualified and reputable instructor (please contact Gary to discuss your qualifications.) The morning starts with a review of the skills learned in Defensive Handgun Level 1 and then builds upon and continues to hone those skills.

- Conventional and unconventional positions

Sunday, December 15 (8am to 5pm)
Defensive Shotgun Level 1 - $145

The shotgun is arguably the most versatile and misunderstood of all self defense weapons. This class will teach you to maximize the shotgun as a defensive weapon in a violent encounter and dispel the fallacies surrounding it.

Topics include:

- Firearms safety in a dynamic environment
- Fundamentals of shotgun shooting
- Defensive shotgun fundamentals and marksmanship
- Firearm and equipment selection and placement
- Ammunition selection
- Patterning and effective range of different loads in your shotgun
- Shotgun manipulation, reloads, and malfunctions under stress

- Close quarters engagement
